Tonight’s event is hosted in tandem by Bouley and TriBeCa Native. The not for profit TriBeCa Native, founded by Nicole Bartelme serves as a fundraising arm for other organizations by developing and coordinating events. The hope is to develop experiences that over time inspire a group or body that patronizes, supports, or offers continued representation cultivating a grass-roots constituency for annual program support. “Our goal is to take an individual’s needs to a new level that affect and reach beyond the community.”
Marchetto’s novels provides restorative justice to the healing approach /process. Sharing her story with transparency is what inspires and leads others to real transformation”.
Dr. Paula Klein:
One hundred percent (100%) of my clinical practice is devoted to medical oncology care for breast cancer patients from all parts of the Tri-State area. It includes both male and female patients as well as all stages of breast cancer from DCIS through advanced disease, where my particular interest lies. It includes chemoprevention strategies for many who have not been diagnosed with invasive disease but are at high risk making them appropriate for prevention. I see many premenopausal patients as well as the more common postmenopausal patients hoping to offer almost every patient an opportunity to enroll in a clinical trial, either with a new therapy (targeting patient’s unique tumor type and biology) or a new drug or drug combinations including biologics. I also encourage participation in integrative medicine such as YOGA to relax early stage breast cancer patients receiving adjuvant chemotherapy as well acupuncture for treatment related toxicities such as neuropathy and anxiety.
I am proud to serve as the Chief Medical Officer of the Marisa Acocella Marchetto Foundation, a foundation dedicated to EMPOWER uninsured and under insured women with breast cancer and breast cancer survivors to receive the best possible care without being concerned about the financial ramifications. Services from screenings to holistic care to the newest methods of empowerment are funded.
I am currently serving as the President of the New York Metropolitan Breast Cancer Group, a multidisciplinary group of all relevant specialties, including radiology, surgical oncology, medical oncology and radiation oncology dedicated to an exchange of ideas through education and cooperation focused on the treatment of breast cancer patients in the New York Metropolitan area. We are a medical society that shares a common interest in promoting and improving the quality of breast cancer care
I serve on the Breast Disease Management Team at Mount Sinai developing standards of care and clinical pathways across the system to ensure evidence based practice with attention to quality of life for all patients diagnosed with breast cancer and treated anywhere in the health system.
I also serve on the Breast Disease Focus Group to bring forward new clinical trials, industry sponsored as well as cooperative group and investigator initiated, to enhance the care of our breast cancer patients and serve to move the field as forward as we can.
