The Chef & The Doctor Series at Bouley Test Kitchen

“Literary and Culinary Imaginations” – Culinary Literature & Multi-Course Wine Dinner

Join us in Chef Bouley’s private library, located within the new Bouley Test Kitchen, for a literary version of “The Chef and the Doctor” with Dr. Suzanne Garfinkle – Founding Director of the Academy for Medicine and the Humanities at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai – Dr. Michael Berman and Chef David Bouley. From Marcel Proust to present day “foodie fiction,” readers through the ages have gravitated toward the subject of eating as a feast for our literary imagination, and perhaps, as a way to engage more deeply in the complex pleasures of dining. This evening, Drs. Garfinkle and Berman will explore poems and passages from literature about food and discuss its bearing on the brain and body. Be a part of an informative discussion about culinary literature’s bearing on the brain and body. Full of culinary and literature knowledge, you’ll dine on a literary-inspired, multi-course healthy dinner created by Chef David Bouley with a corresponding wine program by Beverage Director Adrien Falcon.

This 6:30pm immersive dining and educational culinary experience is part of Bouley’s “the Chef and the Doctor” series. A series of health-focused, multi-course culinary experiences featuring world-renowned doctors and Chef David Bouley. Each event begins with a reception featuring passed canapés and a specialty health tonic cocktail. After the doctor discussion, Chef Bouley will prepare a multi-course wine dinner featuring products and ingredients to further enhance the topic of the evening. Bonus**: Bouley Test Kitchen event space features an open kitchen meaning unfiltered access to seeing the Bouley Chefs preparing and cooking your meal!
