Join us for an evening with Dr. Uma Naidoo, as she speaks about the brain benefits of spices and herbs.

Dr. Uma Naidoo is an Instructor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. She is the Director of Nutritional and Lifestyle Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital where she sees patients. She is also a Culinary Instructor at The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts.

The presentation will be followed by a multi-course, immune-boosting dinner created by Chef David Bouley and a corresponding wine program by Beverage Director Adrien Falcon.

About Dr. Uma Naidoo:

After graduating as a medical doctor, she completed her training at the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Next she completed a fellowship in Psychosocial Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She has served as a member of the Academy at Harvard Medical School and is currently developing a unique pilot program in Culinary Medicine with Harvard Medical students. After pursuing her passion in cooking by completing both savory and pastry classes at the Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and at the Culinary Institute of America(Hyde Park, New York) Uma decided to pursue a degree as a Professional Chef. She graduated as a Professional Chef from the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Cambridge, MA with High Honors and was awarded the coveted M.F.K. Fisher Award for Outstanding Scholarship and Innovation.

Integrating her professional accomplishments in medicine, human psychology, nutrition and cooking is how she enjoys implementing her clinical work. As the leading Mood-Food expert at Harvard, her main interest is the impact of food on mood. Using food to reduce inflammation and fight disease, as well as and how nutritional psychiatry can have an impact on how we feel by positively affecting our mood and wellbeing.
